Hallo Welt. ..Alles klar?

Ok, so I’m pulling a little blog online where I can regularly write, test out ideas, get feedback. I have a site titled philosophicaltheology.com where I thought I would blog. However, I worried that putting theological-yet-personal posts there would be odd given my goal of turning that site into a sort of resource hub for Analytic Theology and Philosophical Theology content for pastors and others. After a bit I noticed that even though the urge was hitting me to write, I wouldn’t do it because I was afraid the content would line up properly with that site or that if the site took off, and people dug around the older blogs years later, they would find this more personal stuff. It just seemed incongruous so I decided to set up my own site today. My personal workspace online if you will.

Today I’m working on messages for Sunday Morning/Evening at Claremont Bible Chapel in Ontario, CA. My hope is that I can find ways to merge theological studies (atonement, image of God, etc..) for message content at these various brethren churches … not to be confused with the Church of the Brethren. (In PB assemblies in the US and Canda they for a long time referred to themselves as  ” the assemblies”… not at all to be confused with Assemblies of God ).  Anyhow my focus for Sunday will be on the nature of the Atonement.

Thanks WordPress for the amazing work that has been put into this product.

Psalm 78:70  He [God] chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: 71 From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. 72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

I am a PhD student at Fuller Seminary with interests in analytic theology, theological anthropology, epistemology, and hermeneutics. Equally important I fellowship and teach regularly in open Plymouth Brethren congregations in the LA Area and at conferences throughout N. America. I have been married for 14 years to a wonderful woman of industry and wisdom who works as a wills and trusts attorney. We have two young children. At home there are plenty of legos, crafting messes and things to laugh about. I have MA's in Biblical studies (Dallas Seminary, 2003) Instructional Design (Florida State Unviersity, 2008), and Philosophy (Talbot School of Theology, 2016). Fresh out of undergrad I taught social studies as a public school teacher. I've done piles of web and IT work. I'm a jack of all trades according to some. I enjoy working on cars, refurbishing old furniture, hatching ideas, and collecting books. I am an ENTP per the Myers Briggs type indicator. So I enjoy charting out ideas more than implementing them.
